These terms govern your use of the One Light Day app and website. By using them, you agree to these terms.

A free digital monument

One Light Day is offered free of charge as an independent educational, cultural and artistic tribute to Voyager 1. No subscription, advertising or contribution is required to use its features.

Voluntary support

You may choose to support the project through consumable In-App Purchases processed by Apple. Contributions are optional, provide no additional functionality and may be repeated. Prices are displayed before confirmation. Billing, cancellation and refund requests are handled under Apple’s applicable terms and procedures.

Scientific information

Distances, dates, directions, travel times and milestone calculations are estimates assembled for education and perspective. They are not real-time telemetry and must not be relied upon for navigation, scientific operations, emergencies or safety-critical decisions.

Send Light safety

The flash sequence is symbolic and cannot meaningfully transmit a message to Voyager 1. Use the torch responsibly. Never direct flashes toward aircraft, vehicles, people’s eyes, animals or situations where light could distract or endanger someone. Stop using the experience if local conditions are unsafe.

Intellectual property and attribution

The One Light Day name, original design, code and original written material belong to their respective owner. NASA and JPL materials are credited where used and remain subject to their applicable media and usage policies. Voyager, NASA, JPL, Star Trek and Paramount names and marks belong to their respective owners. One Light Day is not affiliated with or endorsed by NASA, JPL, Paramount or Star Trek.

Acceptable use

You may use the app and website for personal, lawful purposes. You may not interfere with their operation, attempt unauthorized access, misuse contact channels, impersonate others, introduce malicious material or use the project in a misleading way.

Links to NASA, JPL, Apple, Signal Ark and other resources are provided for convenience and education. We do not control or guarantee third-party services.

Availability and responsibility

The project is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may improve, change, suspend or discontinue parts of it. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the project. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
